Sefar Group is privately owned company, founded in 1830, and world leader for monofilament precision fabric manufacturing. Sefar serves a broad product portfolio spanning industrial fabric applications in the field of filtration, screen-printing, building architecture, and smart fabrics. Sefar operates productions sites all over the world, has agencies in over 70 countries, with a total staff of 2100 (approx. 1100 in Europe). Sefar is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, ISO TS 16949, and achieves a cleanroom class of 10’000 in production facilities, thus satisfy the quality requirements of medical products in number and size of particles permitted per volume of air.  SFA (the R&D department in Switzerland) has over 15 engineers, supported by 4 full time researchers, working on smart fabrics in heating and sensing applications.
