University of Passau is a first address in German academia with over 10'000 students. The University regularly attains top positions in academic rankings. The Activity and Context recognition Technologies (ACTLab, www.actlab.uni-passau.de) research group at Uni Passau will host iCareNet fellows and contributes to the general network management. The group is led by Prof. Dr. Oliver Amft and pursues fundamental and applied technical research on human activity and context recognition to derive intelligent ubiquitous assistants.  In particular, ACTLab develops and evaluates ubiquitous sensing, processing, and actuation systems with applications in personalised healthcare and building automation. In collaboration with clinical partners, patient studies are used to evaluate concepts and demonstrate solutions.
